Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross share 'Bird Box' score; longer version on the way

Watched by millions, imitated by some dumb people, and disliked by most critics, Netflix original thriller Bird Box was a huge hit for the streaming service over the holidays. A spin on A Quiet Place, where Sandra Bullock and her family face off against a malevolent force that can only get you if you see it (hence the blindfolds), the film benefits from an eerie score by Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross. The score, in “abridged” form, hit streaming services today which you can listen to below.

Reznor & Ross say the physical release of the score will include a lot more:

WE CREATED A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF MUSIC AND CONCEPTUAL SOUND FOR BIRD BOX, A LOT OF WHICH NEVER MADE IT TO YOUR EARS IN THE FINAL VERSION OF THE FILM. WE’VE DECIDED TO PRESENT YOU WITH THIS VERSION OF THE SOUNDTRACK RECORD THAT REPRESENTS WHAT BIRD BOX IS TO US. WE HOPE YOU ENJOY.

OR THOSE INTERESTED, WE WILL BE RELEASING A MORE EXPANSIVE (READ: MORE SELF-INDULGENT) PHYSICAL-ONLY OFFERING THIS SPRING THAT WILL CONTAIN AN ADDITIONAL HOUR OF MUSIC AND ARTWORK THAT COLORS FURTHER OUTSIDE THE LINES… ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Trent also says “Lots coming in 2019.” Nine Inch Nails released Bad Witch and toured a whole bunch in 2018. Stay tuned.
