tUnE-yArDs at Terminal 5 – 6/1/12
Over a year after the release of her album w h o k i l l, tUnE-yArDs still seems to be going strong, playing her biggest paid show yet at Terminal 5 on Friday (6/1). Did you go? How was the show?
If your copy of w h o k i l l is played out, Merrill teamed with Questlove, Beninoise singer-songwriter Angélique Kidjo, and Ghanaian-American rapper Akua Naru for a cover of Fela Kuti’s “Lady” which is on the new (Red) Hot + Fela tribute and is streamable below. They played this at Terminal 5 immediately after tUnE-yArDs’ ended and the T5 crowd stuck around to dance to it instead of shuffling off home.
The Terminal 5 show was with Micachu & the Shapes who play tonight (6/4) at Glasslands, and Delicate Steve who’s new album was streaming via public listening ports at various Manhattan/Brooklyn locations over the weekend. More pictures of tUnE-yArDs, plus Micachu and Delicate Steve, are below.
