Turnover releasing new LP, touring with Elvis Depressedly & Emma Ruth Rundle
Turnover will release the followup to 2015’s super fun Peripheral Vision, titled Good Nature, on August 25 via Run For Cover. Once again they worked with producer Will Yip, and lead single “Super Natural” is right up the alley of Peripheral Vision: reverby, hummable dream pop that fans of Real Estate and Beach Fossils should check out. The band says the rest of the album goes in different directions though, citing “bossa nova, cool jazz, electronic music, psychedelic grooves,” and The Beach Boys’ Pet Sounds as influences. Listen to the new song and check out the tracklist below. That’s the album artwork above (where you can already see a little Pet Sounds influence).
Turnover have also announced a fall tour with labelmate Elvis Depressedly and dark singer/songwriter Emma Ruth Rundle (who released the great Marked For Death last year on Sargent House).
The tour includes NYC shows on November 16 at Bowery Ballroom (tickets) and November 17 at Music Hall of Wliliamsburg (tickets). Both go on sale Wednesday (6/28) at noon. All dates are listed below.
In other news, the band have parted ways with guitarist Eric Soucy. They say, “Eric has left the band to address personal issues, and has been receiving professional counseling related to his personal relationships and emotional abuse allegations made against him.” You can read more here.
