two Mica Levi (Micachu) compositions being released on new 7″ (listen)
Thanks to her Oscar-nominated score for Jackie, Mica Levi is as well-known these days as a composer as she is as an avant pop musician. Those distinct sides are coming together as two of Levi’s more classical-minded competitions are being released on the ultimate pop format — a 45RPM single. “Peace,” which Levi wrote for her mother, is performed by cellist Oliver Coates (who she collaborated on the album Remain Calm); “Riding Through Drinking Harpo Dine” is the first of a series of compositions written for pianist Eliza McCarthy (who played on the Jackie soundtrack).
This 7″ single will be released April 28 via Foom, with artwork by Levi, and you can order yours now. “Riding Through Drinking Harpo Dine” from the single premieres in this post — listen below.
