Ty Segall & White Fence @ Warsaw (pics, setlist, video)

The combined forces of Ty Segall and White Fence hit Brooklyn on Friday (3/1) for a sold-out show at Warsaw. Having made two albums together, it’s a good pairing, with White Fence’s Tim Presley exerting a strong British first wave influence (The Who in particular) while Segall added muscle. The Brooklyn show stuck mainly to those two collaborative albums — 2012’s Hair and last year’s great Joy –– all of which sounded excellent. It was a more subdued crowd than you normally get with Ty, more head-bobbing than crowd surfing Friday night. They finished out the night with solo songs from each — Ty’s “Crazy” and White Fence’s “Enthusiasm” — before playing “Scissor People” from Hair. Setlist and video of “Scissor People” below and pictures from the night, including opener Axis:Sova, are in the gallery above.

White Fence recently released new album I Have to Feed Larry’s Hawk, while Ty Segall has a live album on the way and he’ll be back in Brooklyn on Wednesday (3/6) at Trans-Pecos with The C.I.A., his duo with wife Deneen. Tickets are still available.
