Ty Segall & The Freedom Band are doing extended residencies where they’re playing their excellent new album First Taste in full, along with full-album performances of Manipulator, Goodbye Bread, Melted and Emotional Mugger. The Los Angeles residency at Teragram Ballroom is underway right now, and the five-show NYC run happens in October.

The NYC run was originally happening at Brooklyn club Warsaw on October 1-5 but those shows have now been moved to Brooklyn Steel and Bowery Ballroom. Here’s the rundown:

Tues. Oct. 1 @ Brooklyn Steel – Ty Segall and Freedom Band (plays First Taste + Melted) w/ Lamps (tickets)

Wed. Oct. 2 @ Bowery Ballroom – Ty Segall and Freedom Band (plays First Taste + Melted) w/ White Fence (tickets)

Thurs. Oct. 3 @ Bowery Ballroom – Ty Segall and Freedom Band (plays First Taste + Goodbye Bread) w/ DMBQ (11:30 PM doors) (tickets)

Fri. Oct. 4 @ Bowery Ballroom – Ty Segall and Freedom Band (plays First Taste + Emotional Mugger) w/ DMBQ (tickets)

Sat. Oct. 5 @ Brooklyn Steel – Ty Segall and Freedom Band (plays First Taste + Manipulator) w/ DMBQ (tickets)

All previously purchased tickets for Warsaw will be honored and you can also get a refund at point of purchase (deadline for refunds is September 24 at 5 PM).

No reason has been given for the move — most of Ty’s shows the last few years have been at Warsaw — but Warsaw came under fire recently for booking a speaking engagement with Holocaust revisionist Edward Reid (which got canceled).
