U2 take on Donald Trump at Dreamforce benefit (video); White Stripes “disgusted” by song used in Trump campaign video

U2 played the annual (and massive) tech conference Dreamforce in San Francisco on Wednesday night (10/5), erecting a giant stage outside Cow Palace for a charity concert benefitting UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals. During the breakdown of “Bullet the Blue Sky,” they launched into a back-and-forth with Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, using clips of his speeches and Bono offering retorts. In other bands-vs-Trump news, The White Stripes reunited on Wednesday, in an official statement at least, to condemn his use of their song “Seven Nation Army” in a campaign video, saying, “Regarding the use of ‘Seven Nation Army’ in a Donald Trump campaign video, The White Stripes would like to unequivocally state that they have nothing whatsoever to do with this video. They are disgusted by this association, and by the illegal use of their song.”
