(Udo) Dirkschneider announces 2018 tour of Accept material

While heavy metal legends Accept are on tour now with new vocalist Mark Tornillo (having just played NYC on Tuesday, 9/26), original Accept vocalist Udo Dirkschneider has been revisiting Accept’s catalog with his new-ish project Dirkschneider. (This is different from U.D.O., the band he formed after leaving Accept in 1987, who released their latest album in 2015 and have one upcoming date in Germany, though most Dirkschneider members also play in U.D.O.)

Dirkschneider released a live album in 2016, followed by a live film this year. Talking about the former, he said, “It’s unbelievable. I never expected this tour to be so successful. It’s beautiful to see how many people walk with me on my personal way of saying goodbye to the Accept chapter.” He also said in 2016, “It’s still so much fun to sing these songs live, they are a part of my biography, but nevertheless it’s about time to turn that page.” Thankfully it isn’t time to turn the page just yet, as Dirkschneider has announced another North American tour for 2018.

The tour hits NYC on February 23 at Gramercy Theatre (tickets). He also plays a nearby show at The Chance in Poughkeepsie the next night. All dates are listed below.
