As mentioned, new-ish UK punks Grade 2 have signed to Rancid frontman Tim Armstrong’s Epitaph imprint Hellcat, and they’re releasing their new album Graveyard Island — which was produced by Tim and mixed by Kevin Bivona of The Interrupters and The Transplants — on October 11 (pre-order). We recently posted lead single “Graveyard Island,” which sounds influenced by the same kind of ’80s UK street punk that was also a clear influence on Rancid early on, and the just-released “Tired Of It” is cut from that same cloth. Their influences may be a little obvious, but Grade 2 do this kinda thing very well and they’ve also got a strong message behind the songs. According to vocalist/guitarist Jack Chatfield, this one “addresses the modern issue of the severe lack of privacy the people have today due to current technology, social media, targeted advertisements, etc. We live in an age where businesses care more about the money they can make from selling personal data than the privacy of their users and we’re fucking tired of it.” Listen below.

Grade 2 have also announced a US tour, including a couple LA shows opening for The Adicts and a Brooklyn show opening for The Queers on October 6 at The Kingsland. The Brooklyn show also has 45 Adapters, UFC, and Grundle Thunder on the bill, and tickets are on sale now. All dates are listed below.
