Varukers

UK punks Varukers playing US shows on 40th anniversary tour

British punks The Varukers have been going strong since 1979 (save for a brief hiatus in the late ’80s/early ’90s), and they’ve touched on everything from classic style ’70s punk to street punk to D-beat to hardcore throughout their career. The band — still led by founding vocalist Anthony “Rat” Martin and longtime guitarist Ian “Biff” Smith — put out their latest album, Damned and Defiant, in 2017, and as you can tell from that LP, they’ve much still got it. It’s a scorcher. I haven’t seen them live, but recent live videos on YouTube show that they’re still a force to be reckoned with on stage too. Check out some live videos, a music video from the latest LP, and streams of some of their classics below.

The Varukers have been celebrating their 40th anniversary on tour this year, and they’re gearing up to come over to the US later this summer. Their tour includes a NYC show on August 23 at Brooklyn Bazaar with support from Demencia Alkoholika, Extended Hell, Fuga, Disassociate, Lakras, and UFC (tickets). They also have US shows in Dallas, TX and Tacoma, WA and possibly more TBA. All known dates are listed below.
