UK trio Happyness ready new EP (watch video for "Anna, Lisa Calls")

London trio Happyness are working on the follow-up to their underrated 2014 debut, Weird Little Birthday, but before that are releasing a stopgap EP, Tunnel Vision On Your Part, on September 23 via Moshi Moshi. New single off the EP is “Anna, Lisa Calls,” a very catchy bit of guitar pop in the Teenage Fanclub/Grandaddy/Wilco mold they do well.

“This is our first phone call song and our fifth song in E major,” the band inform us. “We wrote it one day in the studio in June and recorded it straight away – I think we were going for a kind of Traveling Wilburys thing. Also we felt like we hadn’t put a synth in a song for a while, so… there’s a synth.” There is also, if the song’s video is to be believed, a cake on it. That video premieres in this post and you can watch that, along with a stream of “SB’s Truck” (also on the EP), below.

Happyness will be on a UK/EU tour with Twin Peaks this fall, and are hoping to return to North America in 2017. All dates are listed below.
