UK band Porridge Radio releasing ‘Rice, Pasta And Other Fillers’ (listen to two songs)

UK band Porridge Radio make minor chord rainy day music, where you’re happy to have an excuse not to leave the house. Following a few EPs, singles and online demos, Porridge Radio are set to release Rice, Pasta And Other Fillers on August 2 via Memorials of Distinction. “Danish Pastry Lyrics” which opens the album, is a miserablist anthem about “being fed up and frustrated and full of self loathing and nothingness and wanting to evaporate.” Dana Margolin’s impassioned delivery, and her occasional lyrical dashes of humor, makes this more cathartic than an invitation to wallow. It’s terrific, and the song premieres in this post and you can listen, along with album closer “Eugh,” below.
