Uniform announce new album ‘The Long Walk’ (stream a track)

Uniform have been having a busy year. Vocalist Michael Berdan contributed to The Body’s new album, and then Uniform and The Body released a collaborative album, and now Uniform has announced their own new album, the followup to last year’s very good Wake In Fright. Previously a duo, the new album is their first with drummer Greg Fox (Liturgy, Ex Eye, Guardian Alien, etc), who’s been playing live with them lately. It’s called The Long Walk, and it comes out on August 17 via Sacred Bones (pre-order). The duo-and-drum-machine setup has its unique appeal that can’t fully be replicated with a live drummer, but Greg Fox is a beast and he livens up Uniform’s sound in a way they’ve never sounded before. The first taste of the new setup, “The Walk,” is a punishing mix of industrial, noise, and hardcore punk that has The Long Walk looking pretty promising. It’s got a Danny Perez-directed video that you can watch below.

As mentioned, Uniform are opening Deafheaven‘s upcoming tour, along with Drab Majesty. That tour includes a NYC show on July 24 at Brooklyn Steel (tickets). All dates are listed below.
