Wednesday’s scheduled Bernie Sanders rally in Washington Square Park went on as planned and was not surprisingly mobbed. Vampire Weekend was the musical guest, and Pitchfork sums up what they did nicely:

Vampire Weekend performed at a Bernie Sanders rally in Manhattan’s Washington Square Park tonight. Once again, they were joined by Dirty Projectors’ Dave Longstreth. Accompanied by the Columbia University Metrotones, they performed “Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa,” “Unbelievers,” “Rise Above,” and “A-Punk.” “I know we’re down in NYU territory,” said Ezra Koenig, acknowledging Columbia’s choir joining them on the stage. “But if there’s one place to put aside the bourgeois rivalries of public universities, it’s at a Bernie Sanders rally. Also shoutout to CUNY.” He also shouted out the CWA union members on strike in the crowd.

Watch the entire event, Bernie, Spike Lee, Rosario Dawson, Shailene Woodley, Tim Robbins, Linda Sarsour, and Graham Nash included:

or just all of A-Punk:

Grizzly Bear plays a similar event in Prospect Park on Sunday, and TV On the Radio play one in Long Island City, Queens, on Monday.
