Michelle Branch releasing LP ft. Black Keys' Patrick Carney; Vanessa Carlton touring

Back in 2015, Vanessa Carlton released her first album for Dine Alone Records, Liberman, a very solid album and a departure from her poppier (and better known) early years. She since followed it with a live album, Liberman Live, which features contributions from Deer Tick frontman (and her husband) John McCauley, violinist Skye Steele, and The Watson Twins. Vanessa is supporting the album on tour this year with Tristen opening most dates.

The tour includes early and late shows at NYC’s City Winery on March 10. The early show is with Tristen but the late show is just Vanessa. Tickets for the early and late shows are on sale now. All currently-announced dates are listed below. Another leg is TBA soon.

Speaking of early ’00s alt-pop singers making indie-oriented comebacks, Entertainment Weekly points out that Michelle Branch will release her first album in 14 years and that she recorded it with Patrick Carney of The Black Keys (who, incidentally, she is currently dating). It’s called Hopeless Romantic and it comes out on April 7 via Verve. No music is out from that yet. Stay tuned.
