Very Fresh opening for Speedy Ortiz & playing other shows (stream their new 7")

Speedy Ortiz recently announced their benefit tour for the Girls Rock Camp Foundation, including NYC shows on December 11 at Silent Barn with Downtown Boys, Eskimeaux and Very Fresh; and December 12 at Palisades with Aye Nako, Dirty Dishes and Gemma. When we last posted, the Palisades show appeared sold out and tickets for Silent Barn had not been posted yet, but now tickets for Silent Barn and Palisades are both on sale.
You may already know about Downtown Boys and Aye Nako, but if you’re looking to go to one of these shows, it’s worth catching Brooklyn’s Very Fresh too. Their sound isn’t very far removed from Speedy’s, and it probably won’t surprise you to learn that Speedy singer Sadie Dupuis used to be a member of Very Fresh and that both Sadie and VF singer Cindy Lou Gooden were in the Pavement cover band Babement together.
Very Fresh release their “Clean Touch” b/w “Pale Lips” 7″ this week (11/13) via New Professor Music. The A-side has been out digitally since October, and we’ve got the premiere of the B-side in this post. Listen to both below.
Very Fresh have other shows coming up too, including two more in Brooklyn. One is the release show for their 7″ on Saturday (11/14) at Other Side (338 Moffat St) with Railings (which Cindy Lou is also a member of), Montreal’s Jo Passed, and Retail. That show is $5-8 at the door. The other is December 9 at Aviv with Topshelf signees Infinity Girl, plus Norwegian Arms and The Gradients. Ticket info TBA for that one.
