Vessels prep new LP ft Flaming Lips, John Grant, Harkin & more (listen)

UK electronic band Vessels will release their fourth album The Great Distraction on September 29 via Different Recordings. The band, who hail from Leeds, have brought in a few guest vocalists for the album, including Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne, John Grant, and Vincent Neff of Django Django. We’ve got the premiere of “Deeper in a Sky” which features lead vocals by Harkin, aka former Sky Larkin leader Katie Harkin, who has played in Sleater-Kinney, Wild Beasts and is currently part of Courtney Barnett & Kurt Vile’s backing band, The Sea Lice. Her airy vocals fold seamlessly into the song’s skittering, ethereal backing and you can check that out, plus the Wayne Coyne collaboration and a few other tracks off the LP, below.

Vessels will be on tour in the UK and Europe this fall. Those dates are listed, along with The Great Distraction‘s artwork and tracklist, below.

Meanwhile  you can catch Harkin at Brooklyn’s Union Pool on September 9 with Annie Hart and more, and then she’ll be on tour with Courtney Barnett & Kurt Vile this fall.
