Vision Festival: 2017 lineup, schedule & tickets

The Vision Festival has been celebrating boundary-pushing free jazz (not to mention art, poetry, film and other forms) for more than two decades, and the 22nd edition takes place May 28 – June 3 at Judson Memorial Church in NYC. This first night will honor multi-instrumentalist,educator (“and raconteur”) Cooper-Moore. The rest of the festival includes performances from Miya Masaoka, Darius Jones, the Odean Pope Saxophone Choir, the collective Farmers by Nature (featuring William Parker, Gerald Cleaver and Craig Taborn), Nicole Mitchell, Joelle Leandre, Tomas Fujiwara’s Double Trio, Matthew Shipp, and lots more.

There’s also a film festival at Anthology Film Archives, and some nighttime events as well. The main music lineup is listed below and you can check out the schedule and more detailed show info at Vision Festival’s website. Tickets are on sale now.
