watch a documentary on Steve Albini, poker champion
Steve Albini is best known as the recording engineer behind some of your favorite albums (Surfer Rosa, In Utero, etc) and musician, but last June made headlines for his side hustle as a poker ace, as he won his first World Series of Poker tournament in Las Vegas, earning him $106,000 and a coveted WSOP gold bracelet. “The box is actually slightly nicer than the bracelet itself,” Albini says of that bracelet in a new documentary short titled “Albini Cashes In,” made for Poker Central’s “Stories From the Felt” online series. In it you learn about how a regular Tuesday night game in Chicago turned into the big win. We also learn that Albini is “over caring about” being called a producer. Watch below.
