watch Agnostic Front, Sick Of It All & Gorilla Biscuits members’ Q&A at Nitehawk

Hardcore Nitehawk

The March edition of Nitehawk‘s Music Driven series (co-presented by BrooklynVegan) included a screening of the long out-of-print and highly bootlegged Hardcore VHS II: In-Effect Live in N.Y.C. ’91, which documented the “Superbowl of Hardcore IV” show on January 19, 1991 at NYC’s Studio 54 with Agnostic Front, Sick Of It All and Gorilla Biscuits. After the screening, there was a Q&A with director George Seminara, associate producer Howie Abrams, Agnostic Front’s Vinnie Stigma, Sick Of It All’s Lou Koller, and Gorilla Biscuits’ Walter Schreifels. As you may expect, it was a very interesting and revelatory (and funny) discussion. If you weren’t there, or just want to relive it, you can now watch a video of the whole Q&A below. If you’d rather just listen on Soundcloud, you can do that below too.

Music Driven continues with a screening of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds concert film Distant Sky this Thursday (4/12) (sold out) and Slits documentary Here to be Heard: The Story of The Slits on May 8 with a Q&A with director William E. Badgley and producer Jennifer Shagawat (of Shellshag), moderated by Pitchfork contributing editor Jenn Pelly (tickets).

As for the musicians on the Hardcore VHS II panel, Agnostic Front are celebrating the 35th anniversary of United Blood at Black N’ Blue Bowl 2018, Sick Of It All are playing This Is Hardcore and Fat Mike’s Camp Punk In Drublic, and Walter Schreifels’ band Quicksand are touring with Glassjaw.
