The coronavirus continues to bring people together even when they’re apart. Old friends, collaborators and Louisville scene vets Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy‘s Will Oldham and David Pajo (Papa M, Slint) got together via the internet on Monday night for a “sweet duet among friends.” Specifically they covered “Standin’ In My Way” by West Virginia country artist Cody Wickline. Like so many of these videos we’ve gotten over the last six weeks, it’s simple and really lets the song — and Oldham an Pajo’s voices — shine. It’s sweet indeed and you can watch below.
Oldham toured with Jonathan Richman earlier this year right before COVID-19 shut everything down.
