E Street Band member Little Steven just released solo album Summer of Sorcery, his first album of new material in 20 years. Along with his band The Disciples of Soul, Little Steven played release shows in Los Angeles on Saturday (5/4) and Asbury Park on Wednesday (5/8) and both had him welcoming Bruce Springsteen to play Born to Run‘s “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out” as well as Little Steven’s ’80s anti-Apartheid anthem “Sun City” and “I Don’t Want to Go Home.” You can watch them play all three of those from the Asbury Park show below.
Little Steven & The Disciples of Soul will launch a proper tour for Summer of Sorcery next week in Liverpool, and the North American leg begins June 29 in Syracuse and runs through July 28 at Annapolis, MD. Dates include stops at New Haven’s College Street Music Hall on July 16 (tickets) and Long Island’s The Paramount on July 18 (tickets).
He’s also just announced a fall run including a show at NYC’s Beacon Theatre on November 7. Tickets for that show are on presale now (use password METRO) and go on sale to the general public on Friday, May 10 at noon.

Bruce also made a surprise appearance at the Asbury Park Film Festival in April, for a post-screening Q&A for the documentary Asbury Park: Riot, Redemption, Rock ‘n’ Roll.
