watch Butch Walker talk about losing everything in a fire (in clip from new episode of 'Ernie Ball: In Pursuit of Tone')

Singer-songwriter Butch Walker had his home destroyed in the 2007 fires in Malibu, CA. In a new episode of the series Ernie Ball: The Pursuit of Tone, Butch talks about the effects of that fire on his life and how it sparked a creative rebirth for him. “Everything that I ever worked my ass off to get, every bit of it was fucking gone,” says Butch. “It kinda forces you to put your big boy pants on grow up a little bit”

The fires directly inspired his song “Going Back/Going Home” off of his 2008 album Sycamore Meadows, and he talks about that, and plays a little of that song, in the episode as well. You can catch the whole episode when it airs November 11 on the Audience Music network (Directv ch.239 and U-Verse ch.1114) but we’ve got an exclusive clip from it that you can watch below.

Butch also released a new album called Stay Gold earlier this year. Listen to that, and watch the video clip, below.
