watch Henry Rollins play "Rise Above" with Cyndi Lauper in LA

Greg Ginn has been playing Black Flag songs all year with the current version of Black Flag; and former members Keith Morris, Chuck Dukwoski, Dez Cadena, Bill Stevenson still play those songs from time to time as FLAG; but Henry Rollins has expressed disinterest in taking part in any Black Flag reunions, and I don’t know when the last time he performed Black Flag music live was, but his tours these days tend to be spoken word and photo slideshows.

However, as Stereogum points out, Rollins was a guest at Cyndi Lauper‘s Home For The Holidays benefit (which happened in LA this year), and he and Cyndi did “Rise Above” together. It’s pretty awesome, as you can see for yourself below.

Other guests at the show this year included Marilyn Manson, Kesha, King Princess, Perry Farrell, and Lily Tomlin.
