Hot Chip have been covering Bruce Springsteen’s “Dancing in the Dark” for their encore on this tour and, at least in NYC, they’ve been segueing that into LCD Soundsystem’s “All My Friends.” Hot Chip guitarist Al Doyle, who also played in LCD’s live band, has been singing it, and after doing it at Baby’s All Right on Monday (8/3) they did it again at Webster Hall on Tuesday (8/4) in a more extended fashion. Also making it more special: they brought out Nancy Whang, making for a bit of an LCD reunion, and Sinkane helped out as well. Video from Webster Hall is below.
Tonight (8/5), Hot Chip play their second sold-out night at Webster Hall. They show is opened by Museum of Love, the current band of onetime LCD Soundsystem (and Hot Chip) drummer Pat Mahoney. Who knows who might come out for Hot Chip’s encore tonight?
