watch Isis’ full reunion set (as “Celestial”) from the Caleb Scofield tribute

Isis

Post-metal greats Isis reunited for their first show since breakup at 2010 at the Caleb Scofield tribute at LA’s Wiltern last night (10/13). Probably due in part to Isis not being a great band name in 2018, they played under the name “Celestial” (the name of their 2000 debut album). They closed with the sorta-title track “Celestial (The Tower)” from that album, and also played Oceanic songs “Carry” and “The Beginning and the End,” and Panopticon songs “So Did We” and “Fiction.”

The show — which also included two bands Caleb was in (Cave In and Old Man Gloom, the latter of which also includes Isis’ Aaron Turner), as well as Pelican and Isis associates 27 — streamed live, and the full stream has been archived. Watch below. Isis’ set starts at 2:55:28.

Isis’ Aaron Turner has also recently been busy with Sumac, who just released their great new album Love In Shadow.
