Jesu Nothing Prurient

watch Jesu, Nothing & Prurient team for "Tired Of Me" in live session video

At the Hospital Productions 20th anniversary show at Brooklyn’s Warsaw last year, there was a very exciting one-off collaboration between Jesu (aka Justin K Broadrick, whose Godflesh also played), Prurient (aka Hospital Productions boss Dominick Fernow), and shoegaze band Nothing. We posted a bit of fan-shot video of their set, but they also professionally filmed their rehearsal the day before the show for a Revolver Mag video series. We’ve got the premiere of their take on Jesu’s 2004 song “Tired Of Me” from that video series. It looks and sounds awesome, and it’s not just a straightforward re-creation of the Jesu song. With Nothing and Prurient backing Broadrick, they turn “Tired Of Me” into something even heavier than it was originally, and really breathe new life into it. Watch the performance below.

From Revolver:

Live from the practice space just a day before their performance at the Hospital Productions 20th Anniversary, Jesu’s “Tired of Me” from Broadrick’s self-titled 2004 effort is reimagined with the backing band of Nothing and Dominic Fernow, altering the underground shoegaze classic to another level of serenity.
