Kevin Morby and Waxahatchee‘s Katie Crutchfield have been doing Instagram livestreams every Thursday since COVID-19 lockdown began, but said that last night, the April 30 edition, would be “the last one for a bit,” with Katie adding “I feel pretty certain that we’ll bring this back down the line. It just feels like the natural time to take a little break.” Last night’s show included, appropriately, a cover of Songs: Ohia‘s “Farewell Transmission,” as well as covers of Mazzy Star‘s “Fade Into You,” Wilco‘s “Jesus, Etc” and Sheryl Crow‘s “If It Makes You Happy.” You can watch video of those four covers, below.

Kevin has also been showing off his skills with nunchucks lately on his instagram and the picture above comes from his most recent demonstration, which was to promote last night’s livestream. You can watch that below, too.

Meanwhile, Kevin released a live single today for Bandcamp’s artist appreciation day today, featuring versions of “Beautiful Strangers” and “Harlem River” both recorded at Paris club Cabaret Sauvage in 2019 . They’re from his Oh Mon Dieu: Live In Paris double album that’s coming out for Record Store Day on August 29. Listen to those below. That’s the first of three RSD events to replace the original postponed date (with more happening in September and October, fingers crossed).
