Microwaves

watch Microwaves' new video for "Ex Moonwalker"; tour starts soon

Pittsburgh’s chaotic math/noise rockers Microwaves returned last year with the new album Via Weightlessness on Three One G Records, and we’re now premiering the video for “Ex Moonwalker” off that album. The video is as mind-melting as the song itself, and here’s what drummer John Roman tells us about it:

The new video was shot on a shoestring budget of about twenty dollars. It’s amazing what you can do in this day and age for so little money since it looks like it was shot on a thirty dollar budget. The title isn’t a reference to Michael Jackson, but instead a dead astronaut. It’s a song about being stuck in orbit, longing, loss and death. We really know how to pack a lot into a less than 2 minute composition. It’s about as close as we’ve ever gotten to writing a love song.

Microwaves are also gearing up for a November tour that hits Louisville, Iowa City, Milwaukee, Chicago, Detroit, and more. All dates are listed, with the new video and a stream of Via Weightlessness, below.
