Paul Simon Edie Brickell

watch Paul Simon cover Everly Brothers w/ Edie Brickell & play "The Boxer" in quarantine

Everyone’s getting in on the quarantined performances, including legendary singer/songwriters like Neil Young (whose latest fireside session is delayed due to his wife Daryl Hannah’s health) and married couple Paul Simon and Edie Brickell, who harmonized on a gorgeous cover of The Everly Brothers‘ classic “I Wonder If I Care As Much.” Stripped-down recordings of Paul Simon, an acoustic guitar, and beautiful vocal harmonies is how a lot of us fell in love with Paul’s music in the first place, so needless to say, this is very cool stuff.

As Stereogum points out, it follows a solo quarantined performance of the Simon & Garfunkel classic “The Boxer,” which also sounds wonderful, and Paul also took part in Willie Nelson’s recent Luck Reunion livestream. He covered the Everly Brothers with Edie (and Woody Harrelson!) at that one too. Watch all three below, and let’s hope more are on the way.
