watch Portlandia’s sketch ft. Henry Rollins, Krist Novoselic & Brendan Canty
The eighth and final season of Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein‘s Portlandia returns this Thursday (1/18) on IFC, and, as mentioned, this season will feature cameos from former Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic, former Black Flag frontman Henry Rollins, and former Fugazi drummer Brendan Canty. IFC has released the sketch with those musicians a little early. It stars Fred Armisen as Spyke, who wants to reunite his old hardcore band Riot Spray to make a statement in today’s political climate. When he practices with the rest of the band (that’s where Novoselic, Rollins, and Canty come in), things don’t go exactly the way he expected. Much to Spyke’s dismay, the rest of the guys want change the song to reflect that they’re better musicians now, and their newfound fondness of Bruno Mars. Watch below.
Meanwhile, Henry Rollins is currently on his “Travel Slideshow” tour, which hit Long Island last night (1/16) and hits NJ tonight (1/17).
