Smashing Pumpkins Myrkur

watch Smashing Pumpkins & Myrkur cover Black Sabbath's "Snowblind"

Last year, folk/pop/black metal musician Myrkur (aka Amalie Bruun) joined The Smashing Pumpkins on stage for a cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide” (which the Pumpkins have covered for decades), and yesterday (6/16) at the UK’s Download Festival, she joined them again for another classic cover, this time for one the Pumpkins had — according to Setlist.fm — never played before: Black Sabbath‘s “Snowblind.” They did a faithful rendition, with the Pumpkins doing a fine job of replicating Tony Iommi’s riffage, and Amalie belted the song in a way we suspect would make Ozzy proud. It’s pretty great — watch and listen above.

P.S., congrats Amalie!
