watch St. Vincent play the National Anthem, discuss Dallas Cowboys fandom
Even though it’s been a while since her last album, St. Vincent continues to stay busy with fun stuff that keeps her in the public consciousness. Her latest thing is a new video she just put out with none other than the NFL, which provides special fodder if you are an indie rock fan who can’t wait for football season (guilty as charged).
St. Vincent took part in an ad for the NFL (that’s been airing during the Olympics) that shows her playing the National Anthem, and there’s also a behind-the-scenes video from the ad. The BTS shows St. Vincent (aka Annie Clark), a Dallas native, recording a typically woozy section of the “Star-Spangled Banner” and discussing her childhood admiration for the Cowboys (Troy Aikman, Emmett Smith, Michael Irvin and the like) and childhood desire to take the field with the Team.
