High-energy riff rockers The Battery Electric, who recently relocated from Asbury Park to LA, returned last month with their new album Goin’ Wild. It was produced by Eagles of Death Metal frontman Jesse Hughes and EODM member Dave Catching (also of veteran stoner rock band earthlings?), and the title track features guest vocals by Nick Oliveri (Kyuss, QOTSA, etc). “It’s a real special thing for us to be able to record with these guys, hell, or even just hang out with them. They are our heroes and have become really good friends to us. We grew up with their music and now we get to share ours with them.,” vocalist Ronnie Santee says.

We’re premiering the very psychedelic video for the title track, and here’s what Ronnie tells us about this one:

It’s about the feeling of when you’re in the throws of a pretty intense bender. When you’re running on fumes and your ego is about to burst. You feel really tired, achy, bruised, yet somehow invincible. Even though you’ve seen the sun rise and fall and you should be asleep… you’re not.

And guitarist Brent Ovar Bergholm adds:

When we were recording at Rancho De La Luna, Nick Oliveri stopped by the studio and we asked him if he wanted to sing on it. All those gnarly “I’m Goin Wild!!” are Nick going ballistic. The end solo is Davey Joe Catching ripppin an eerie, spooky, surf rock solo; It was really cool to see the song go from a fun garageband demo to a behemoth of demented Rock N Roll.
