corporate season 2

watch the 'Corporate' S2 trailer (and watch the first season for free)

The holidays are over and it’s back to work…which is a great excuse to slack off and watch the trailer for the second season of Comedy Central’s dark workplace comedy, Corporate. The series, about a bunch of mid-level employees at megacorporation Hampton Deville (“We Don’t Make Anything. We Make Everything.”), stars co-creators Matt Ingebretson and Jake Weissman, as well as Aparna Nancherla, Lance Reddick (Lt. Daniels on The Wire) and Baron Vaughn, and in season 2 the show adds SNL‘s Sasheer Zamata as Matt’s “proximity crush” and also features Kristen Schaal and Andy Richter. Among S2’s plotlines: Hampton DeVille acquires a cable news network, and Matt and Jake try makeup for men and face the difficulties of going to see shows on a weeknight. Ty Segall, who wrote the series’ theme song, contributes new songs to S2 as well. Season 2 of Corporate debuts on Comedy Central on January 15 at 10:30 PM Eastern/Pacific (9:30 Central). Watch the trailer below.

Meanwhile, if you haven’t watched Corporate‘s first season — one of my picks for shows to binge over the holidays — Comedy Central has made all 10 episodes available to stream for free up until the Season 2 premiere. Watch those here.

Also, Aparna Nancherla is now back in NYC after her “big career opportunity” and co-hosting Butterboy again on Mondays at Littlefield with Jo Firestone and Maeve Higgins. This Monday (1/7) the guests include Hari Kondabolu, Josh Sharp, Maria Heinegg, Jak Knight, Kenice Mobley and Mary Beth Barone (tickets).

She’s also got a few other shows lined up: “Whiplash” at Union Hall on Friday (January 4) with Liza Treyger, Tim Dillon, Abby Rosenquist, and Ranaan Hershberg (tickets); the “Oh What a Show!” benefit for the Transgender Law Center at The Bell House on February 2 with Janeane Garofalo, Catherine Cohen, Jo Firestone, Joe Pera and more (tickets); and a headline show at The Bell House on February 27 (tickets)
