The Decemberists frontman Colin Meloy has been doing regular solo livestreams on Instagram, including one on Friday (5/1). He said it would be likely be his last for a while, and he took donations for The Family Preservation Project while performing a set made up entirely of covers. Included were his renditions of songs by Bruce Springsteen (“Dancing in the Dark”), Pink Floyd (“Wish You Were Here”), Neil Young (“For the Turnstiles”), Neutral Milk Hotel (“A Baby for Pree” and “Where You’ll Find Me Now”), Joanna Newsom (“Bridges and Balloons”), Morrissey (“Everyday is Sunday”), Big Star (“Ballad of El Goodo”), Van Morrison (“Sweet Thing”), and more.
