watch the first trailer for 'Black Mirror' S3 (on Netflix this month)

Charlie Brooker‘s brilliant, unsettling anthology series Black Mirror is back with its first new episodes in two years, with three new episodes debuting October 21 on Netflix. If you’ve never seen it, it’s Twilight Zone-esque with a glimpse at a very tangible, very possible near future where the human race’s dependence on technology gets into some grey areas that verge on pitch-black. The first of those episodes, “Nosedive,” was directed by Joe Wright (Atonement, Hanna), cowritten by Rashida Jones, and stars Bryce Dallas Howard. You can get a taste of what’s to come, so to speak, in the new season’ first trailer, which you can watch below.

As mentioned, the new episodes were scored by Geoff Barrow (Portishead/BEAK>). And if you haven’t seen the show at all, the first two seasons, as well as the John Hamm-starring 2014 Christmas episode, are all streaming on Netflix right now.
