watch the trailer for horror film 'XX,' St. Vincent's feature directorial debut

As mentioned, St. Vincent’s Annie Clark is one of four female filmmakers who made upcoming horror anthology flick, XX. Annie’s segment is titled “Birthday Party” and stars Melanie Lynskey (Togetherness, Heavenly Creatures). The trailer for the film has been released and you can watch it below.

The other filmmakers are Karyn Kusama, Roxanne Benjamin, and Jovanka Vuckovic. The film premieres at Sundance and then opens in select theaters on February 17 and will be available to on demand and streaming that same day.

UPDATE: Nitehawk Cinema will also host a preview screening on February 15 at 9:30 PM (tickets) in addition to midnight screenings on February 17 & 18 (tickets) are on sale now.

Additionally, Nitehawk asked XX’s filmmakers to pick a couple influential films to screen and they picked Michael Haneke’s 2009 film The White Ribbon which will screen at midnight on February 3 & 4 (tickets); and Stephen King adaptation Pet Cemetery (with its Ramones theme song) which will screen at midnight on February 24 & 25 (tickets).
