Usher and FKA twigs at Grammys 2020

The 2020 Grammys featured a tribute to Prince, led by Usher and featuring percussionist onetime Prince protege Sheila E and interpretive dance by FKA twigs. The medley featured “Little Red Corvette,” “When Doves Cry” and “Kiss.” Watch clips from that below.

As for why FKA twigs only danced and didn’t sing:

Contrary to twigs’ tweet, however, Sheila E told USA Today, “She didn’t want to sing. First she wanted to, but then she didn’t want to when we ran through it because she didn’t have a (microphone) pack and (in-ear monitors), so she couldn’t hear. And she would rather have danced – which is what we asked her as well. She chose not to, she said ‘No, I’m OK.’”

The medley also served as a promo for the All-Star Grammy Tribute to Prince that will happen on Tuesday (1/28) at the Los Angeles Convention Center with Beck, Alicia Keys, John Legend, Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Juanes and more, and will air on CBS later this year.
