Wavves announce 'King of the Beach' 10th anniversary tour & reissue

Not only are Beach Fossils and Wild Nothing celebrating the 10th anniversaries of their 2010 debut albums on tour together, but Wavves just announced a 10th anniversary for their 2010 breakthrough King of the Beach (which we named the 64th best punk album of the decade). They’re also reissuing the album on “purple kush vinyl with alternate art that was originally slated to be the cover but eventually scrapped,” and it comes with a bonus 7″ featuring KOTB era songs “Mutant” (from the Japanese pressing of KOTB) and “Stained Glass (Won’t You Let Me Into Yr Heart)” (from the Summer Is Forever split with Best Coast). That comes out April 10 via Fat Possum (pre-order).

The tour includes a Brooklyn show at Warsaw on May 1 with Sadgirl. Tickets go on sale Friday (1/17) at noon. All dates are listed below.

If you haven’t listened to King of the Beach in a while, it’s worth revisiting — its weird brand of surfy, lo-fi pop punk and warped psychedelia still doesn’t sound like much else, and still holds up. Revisit the videos for “Post Acid” and the title track below:
