Wavves got a death threat at their Houston, TX show

According to frontman Nathan Williams, Wavves received a death threat at their Houston, TX show at Satellite Bar on Sunday (10/21). Nathan tweeted on Monday, “a guy at the show last night threatened to kill us because we didn’t play an encore. Thought he was joking at first but he was dead serious.” He continued, “yes it is a pun and yes he did actually threaten to kill us.”

A representative for Wavves confirmed to Pitchfork that the threat was made, and the person who made it was taken out of the venue by security.

A Giant Dog opened for Wavves on Sunday, and starting on Wednesday Wavves join forces with Beach Fossils for a coheadlining tour, which includes October 30 and 31 at Elsewhere in Brooklyn. Halloween is sold out, but tickets are on sale for the 10/30 show. Wavves and Beach Fossils’ tour together also includes recently added West Coast dates.
