PREVIOUSLY:

Wavves played their first of two NYC shows with tourmates Post Animal on Friday (5/12) at Bowery Ballroom. It was a wild crowd for Wavves with a roiling pit going from the second the band started, and stage divers and crowd surfers a constant. Main man Nathan Williams saved the craziest moment of the night for himself, though, doing a flip into the crowd the second floor balcony. The crowd caught him, and Williams said it was an homage to pro wrestler Jeff Hardy’s signature move, the “Swanton Bomb.” (All this comes not too long after a person was injured at a Travis Scott show after dropping from the third floor balcony at Terminal 5.) The crowd caught Nathan and you can watch video of his successful flip, from a few different angles, below.

Photos from the Bowery show are below. Wavves’ new album, You’re Welcome is out May 19, though they had it for sale at the Merch table on Friday. You can catch Wavves and Post Animal tonight (5/14) at Music Hall of Williamsburg. Tickets are still available.
