Wavves, Surfbort & Sharkmuffin at Summer Series @ Industry City (pics)

Wavves hit NYC this week for a one off show on Wednesday as part of the Summer Series at Industry City. They were playing with a fill-in drummer — Brian Hill had injured his elbow just a couple days before the gig — but it didn’t affect things too much, as Nathan Williams and the rest of the band ripped through a mosh-friendly set of favorites and covers of blink-182’s “Dammit” and The Lemonheads’ “Into Your Arms.”

Surfbort were the undercard but played like they were headlining, with charismatic singer Dani Miller, whose energy levels were cranked to the max, jumping into the crowd and keeping them on their toes.
