Wax Idols share new single & “Deborah” video, touring with Thursday, playing Brooklyn w/ Pop. 1280
Wax Idols have a new album titled Happy Ending which will be out later this year, TBA. It’s a concept album described as “exploring the posthumous consciousness of a fictional protagonist who can still fully perceive the world around herself.” The first single is “Everybody Gets What They Want” which is, musically, is jangly and bright and pretty much devoid of anything you’d call “goth.” Stream that below.
Meanwhile, Wax Idols have shared a new video for “Deborah,” a single from their 2015 album, American Tragic. Director Marcelle Altieri made the video with live footage shot in Los Angeles and Oakland, and you can watch it below. American Tragic is getting a cassette reissue, limited to 100 copies, with alternate artwork and a remix of “Deborah” as a bonus track.
As mentioned, Wax Idols will be on tour with Thursday, Touché Amoré, and Basement this spring. They’re not on the NYC show at Irving Plaza, but they are playing their own headlining show at Brooklyn Bazaar on March 29 with Pop. 1280 and Decorum. Tickets are on sale.
All tour dates are listed below.
