Though the Seaport Music Festival has come to a close for the year, fans of after-work free shows along a body of water in NYC can keep the music going at River Rocks at Hudson River Park’s Pier 84, which start this week. Thursday (7/11) is this year’s kickoff event with Generationals, Waxahatchee, and Sallie Ford & the Sound Outside. 7 PM and, again, free.

Waxahatchee were to have performed on the Chris Gethard Show tonight (7/10) at 11 PM on Time Warner’s MNN cable access network (and online), but just pulled out due to being sick. As far as we know Waxahatchee are still playing Thursday’s River Rocks show.

You may remember that Fucked Up were recent music guests on the Chris Gethard Show and you can watch their performance below.

There have been additions to the other two upcoming River Rocks show as well. The Aves will open for Foxygen and Thao & the Get Down Stay Down on July 25; and Juan Wauters (of The Beets) opens for Titus Andronicus and Ducktails on August 8.
