The Weak Days

stream The Weak Days' album ft. members of TWIABP & Slingshot Dakota

Richmond’s The Weak Days are putting their sophomore release Tight out this Friday (7/7) on Running Around Records and Possum Heart Records (pre-order). It hearkens back to late ’90s / early ’00s pop punk, with all the nasally vocals and beefy power chords that defined that era. It’s also got quite the impressive list of guest musicians. It was produced by The World Is A Beautiful Place And I Am No Longer Afraid To Die‘s Chris Teti and features TWIABP singer David F. Bello on the “Dramamine”-recalling “Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here.” Slingshot Dakota‘s Carly Commando sings on “You’re Enough.” There’s also a song called “Featuring Evan Thomas Weiss” (aka the singer of Into It. Over It.), which doesn’t really feature Evan Weiss but begins with a short low-in-the-mix clip of his voice. Other musicians on the album include Chris Farren, Koji, Kississippi‘s Zoe Allaire, and more.

The diverse list of guests help give the album quite the variety of sounds — the song with David Bello basically sounds like a TWIABP song and “Everything Is Cooler In Space” is a somber, minimal song that’s miles away from the band’s usual pop punk. A stream of the whole thing premieres below.

The Weak Days also begin a tour in Raleigh tonight (7/5), and all dates are listed on the tour flyer below.
