Weatherbox are back, release new song & announce first NYC show in 3 years

Weatherbox went on hiatus in 2016, but good news: they’re back! They debuted the new song “Smelly” in a Half Way Home Session and announced their first NYC show in three years, happening at NYC’s Brooklyn Bazaar on May 2 (tickets). It’s billed as their “only East Coast show,” and right now it’s their only upcoming show in general.

As for the new song, it sounds like they never left. It’s got that trademark Weatherbox mix of post-hardcore and quirky indie rock, and singer Brian Warren’s voice is as unmistakable as ever. Listen/watch below.

Weatherbox’s last album was 2014’s great Flies In All Directions (Triple Crown), and they last played NYC at Saint Vitus in 2016.
