Weeknight return with new single (listen), playing Brooklyn in February
It’s been a while since we’ve heard from Brooklyn’s dark, brooding Weeknight. Core members Holly MacGibbon and Andy Simmons, who also own Bushwick bar Birdy’s, are back with a new single “I’m Not Falling in Line.” It’s got that speeding-down-a lonely-road-at-3AM vibe that Weeknight do so well, with a chorus that accelerates nicely through the turn. It’s a welcome return and the song premieres in this post. Listen below.
The band, which has now expanded to a four-piece, are gearing up to record their new album. You can hear a bunch of new songs before that as they’re playing Brooklyn’s Alphaville on February 4 (their first show in over a year) with Bootblacks and Kyle Avallone. Tickets are on sale now.
