Brooklyn’s Weeping Icon formed at the start of 2016 from members of ADVAETA, Lutkie and other groups, and make a dark, snarling, psych-infected brand of punk. The band are set to release their debut EP, Eyeball Under, this week via Kanine/Fire Talk which does a good job of capturing the band’s intense live show. Listen for yourself — a stream of the whole EP premieres in this post.

Weeping Icon will celebrate the EP’s release on Saturday (7/15) at Alphaville which is part of PILL’s EP release show as well. Bambara and Olivia Neutron John are one the bill as well and it’s $10 at the door. They also play Brooklyn Bazaar on July 28 opening for Lydia Lunch’s Retrovirus (which also includes Weasel Walter, Tim Dahl, and Bob Bert). Tickets for that show are on sale.
