Tonight at Knitting Factory it’s the annual Rock Lottery where Holly Miranda, Beans, members of My Morning Jacket, M83, Cymbals Eat Guitars, Hold Steady, Yuck, Hooray for Earth, Ra Ra Riot and more will form impromptu bands (with members being chosen out of a hat). They will write and rehearse original material to be performed tonight. Proceeds from the show go to benefit Hurricane Sandy relief. Sounds like fun.

Meanwhile, A Place to Bury Strangers, Liturgy and more are at 285 Kent tonight for a Hurricane Sandy relief benefit.

Dinosaur Jr. are celebrating the 25th anniversary of their album You’re Living All Over Me with a star-studded (Johnny Marr! Kim Gordon!) show at Terminal 5 where they’ll play the album in full.

And don’t forget that BrooklynVegan is presenting advance screenings of Only The Young andTchoupitoulas (a double feature!) at the Knitting Factory this Sunday (12/2) starting at 7 PM and is free (first come, first served). Do come out!
